Capital Campaign
Meanwhile, don’t forget the ongoing Prenzie capital campaign to help fund All the Works | Seasons of Discontent! Visit the campaign website to contribute directly and be a part of the future of Prenzie Players!
We did it! On the evening of Jan. 19, A Midsummer Night’s Dream was randomly selected, cast, and read through. On the 20th, after rehearsing in the morning, afternoon, and evening, we mounted the production. The event was a resounding success, and officially kicked off the “All the Works | Seasons of Discontent” capital campaign. Visit the campaign page to be a part of Prenzie’s future!
You are invited to one of the craziest things the Prenzie Players have ever attempted. We’re going to put on a Shakespeare play, but we’re not telling you what it is, because we don’t know. We will randomly select a play 24 hours in advance, cast it, rehearse it, and perform it the next night! Come join us for a night of fun as we do the impossible. This will also be the official launch of Prenzie’s new Capital Campaign aimed at funding the “All the Works” project, our ambitious version to complete the entirety of Shakespeare’s canon. Admission is $10 at the door at the Quad City Theatre Workshop. We hope to see you there!

Directed by Jake Walker
Brief Synopsis: Known historically as “The Bad King”, King John causes a wave of upheaval throughout England and France when he bucks the normal rules of succession and seizes the monarchy for himself as opposed to his young nephew. This combined with his other questionable ruling tactics puts him at odds with France, the Vatican, and his own countrymen. Wars break out, deceptions are devised, and the two countries are thrust into mayhem. All this is observed and commented on by one of John’s only loyal supporters, The Bastard.
Prenzie Players Present: All’s Well That Ends Well
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Catherine Bodenbender
October 2017
“…a rare and fascinating concept that utilizes a tight ensemble cast in an uncommon, intimate setting. The blend results in a shrewd and industrious production of one of Shakespeare’s less-produced comedies.”
–Jeff Ashcraft, River Cities Reader
Bertram leaves home, first to be a courtier to the King of France and then to be a soldier for the Duke of Florence. But he can’t seem to escape Helen, who insists that she be his wife. Does she have a rightful claim to Bertram’s heart and hand? Why does Helen continue to pursue him after he rejects her? And how far is “too far” when someone is trying to take control of their life?
